FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MAPLE GROVE, MN – Community Group provides an updated, simplified approach for resolving concerns with the Sacred Settlement.

No Settlement Maple Grove has officially released a list of our goals that we hope can guide our way forward towards a resolution with Church of the Open Door on the Sacred Settlement issue.

As we have stated previously, during numerous meetings with residents and local leaders, concerns were raised about the potential impact of the settlement on the surrounding neighborhood. Many residents have voiced apprehensions regarding safety, particularly for children, as the settlement’s guidelines reportedly allow individuals struggling with addiction to continue using substances while residing there. To date, the community has not received satisfactory answers from Church leaders regarding many of the concerns.

Today, we have launched a new section on our website addressing what our main goals are. We want to form a collaborative working group with the Church to help develop the policies and procedures for the new settlement. We’d also like a Memorandum of Understanding between the neighbors involved in this movement and the Church, outlining our responsibilities and commitments to each other. Finally, we’d like regular impact assessments from the Church to the working group.

We have requested a meeting with the Church Elders and other participants to share these goals.
